I like Morales but I don't like the max 3 pitch. I've always felt like if a pitch is that bad you should be able to tell the player not to use that pitch in a game. lol
we've talked about this before but I can live with that 3-4 pitch. It's the 1-2 rated pitches that drive me nuts
I mean, with a 3, keep working on it in practice. But don't use it in a game please especially against a good hitter.

Draft prospect Brian Fiefield is a 2B or a Pitcher. As a pitcher, he throws 90-92. As a fielder...he has a terrible arm. 🤔
Arm is about accuracy and getting off a throw after fielding so it can kinda make sense.

On NM he’s probably eventually going to be a good hitting, good defense, fast, versatile guy off the bench. I’ve got my SS who is only 21. Might replace Pearson at 2B someday if I can’t find a replacement or might get a look at CF.

Had a similar situation last year... with almost the same pick (mine was #35 overall). It's funny how studying what is only 0's and 1's, I develop unexplained likes of some players. And more and more, drafting for me is less BPA and more get-the-guy-that-I-like.
Then too... my evaluation of draft history showed that I was one of the worst drafters, so I might as well do something different.
I agree with this - i have been a notoriously horrible drafter in this league. I go after the guys i like and hope for the best.
I found when I played solo my solo league with the team that doesn’t have a budget to sign guys I actually had to start drafting properly It’s really helped me in My two online leagues
By properly meaning looking at the needs and skills my team would need for a first few rounds then its guys i like after round 3-4 I honestly hate how the last two drafts I’ve let the AI pick

I can't believe this is 12 rounds. Do most people end up just autodrafting most of the late rounds? I've only ever done the 8 round drafts in AFBL.
I stick it out. I am more "excluding players I don't want" than "looking for guys I do" by round 5 though. I'd auto if I could filter "exclude 30 year olds and players who are low low low low".

I've got a guy in the minors still trying to develop as a two way player. What I don't know is am I making it take longer that way? Like would he develop quicker if he was just one
I've got a SP/OF, Shawn Sims, drafted in ‘90 (I think) and has developed in both roles and is now in majors. I think it just depends on the player.

Re: Serpentine vs Straight, the draft has always been a way to give teams that performed poorly a "leg up" in getting new talent to even things out. So by this definition, a straight draft makes the most sense. If the goal is the evenly distribute the contracted teams' talent, then yes, serpentine is the way to go and the results would be more 'status quo" in terms of league talent distribution overall. so if anything, it seems to me that an organization that has performed well over the past 5 years would WANT a serpentine draft over a straight draft. Just my way of thinking and seeing things. But looking at MLB historically, the expansion drafts have always been 'straight', albeit with only 2 teams so somewhat minimal impact I guess.
I think if should be serpentine style.
If the majority is dead set against serpentine then do 2 rounds 1-20 and the next 2 rounds 20 -1.
Ultimately i don’t care enough to fight this but i think serpentine is the right decision.

With major league players available, there is going to be some advantage even in the serpentine draft for the better picks in the first round. I think if we went with a straight draft it might have too much impact all at once on the balance of the league. It’ll be interesting to see how early prospects start to go.

Definitely can still discuss. I'm in the camp that serpentine/snake makes the most sense to distribute talent among the teams.
Discussion with other Commissioners in the StatsPlus Slack indicated that they did a serpentine draft in their leagues in this situation.
There isn't much documented anywhere for best practices and recommendations regarding OOTP and Contraction which has added to some of my hesitation before taking any actions in the game. I believe I have the recommended process figured out but want to confirm these steps in a test league too.
Regardless, we can begin drafting while I confirm things in the game so I'll make sure we can get this going hopefully by tonight. I appreciate the patience and understanding everyone. This league is where I discovered OOTP so it means a ton to me.

Reminder that if you drafted an IAFA, they might end up in the non-existing Rookie League International Complex. If you have someone you cannot find, use the search to find the player then you can move them to the minor league level of your choice.
If you can remember, can you please remind us every year about this? I had like 5 guys that I had to move (I haven't been on top of my draftees in a while)

Pausing the FA Draft 2. I should have released everyone in the IBL (independent league) to clear up any roster weirdness or players that somehow that missed in FA Draft 1.
There are 4 teams that have a new draft list with players added that will I want to give a chance to notate who are on them before I reset the draft to fix this oversight.
When I get the 4 teams all clear, I'll grab any pending exports then release the IBL players followed by restarting the FA Draft 2.

I see what happened. Initially the game had the number of rounds for this draft set to 20. So I had to change that and re-export the order. I forgot to readjust the playoff teams after this. Fixing now.
